Our commitment
Regular Joe Software believes software should be honest and straightforward — and that includes how we handle your data. This privacy policy is written in plain language because you deserve to understand it.
What we collect
Almost nothing.
All of your data — tasks, goals, notes, and settings — is stored only on your device. It is never transmitted to our servers, never shared with third parties, and never used for advertising or analytics.
The only exception is feedback you choose to send through the in-app feedback form. When you send feedback, your responses are delivered to Regular Joe Software by email and used solely to improve Vantage. Because it is sent as an email, it will include the email address you send it from. Sending feedback is always your choice.
What we do not collect
- No personal information (name, email, location)
- No usage analytics or tracking
- No advertising identifiers
- No crash reports sent to third parties
- No data sold or shared with anyone
iCloud backup
Vantage saves a periodic backup copy of your data so your tasks and notes survive if the app is deleted and reinstalled. When iCloud Drive is enabled on your device, this backup is written to your personal iCloud Drive, under your own Apple ID. If iCloud Drive is not enabled, the backup is kept only on your device. Either way, the backup stays within your own Apple account and storage — Regular Joe Software has no access to it, cannot read it, and runs no servers. Vantage does not sync your data across devices or anywhere else.
Voice input
When you add a task by voice, Vantage uses Apple's speech recognition to turn what you say into text. Depending on your device and language, Apple may do this on your device or on Apple's servers; either way it is handled under Apple's privacy policy, not ours. Regular Joe Software never receives, hears, or stores your voice — only the finished text, which then lives on your device like any other task.
Calendar
If you choose to add a task to your calendar, Vantage creates an event in your device's calendar using Apple's Calendar system. That event lives in whichever calendar account you have set up on your device (for example iCloud or Google) and syncs wherever that account already syncs. Vantage only adds events you explicitly ask it to, and Regular Joe Software has no access to your calendar.
Children
Vantage does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If we ever change how we handle data, we will update this page and the date above.
